DNIs and Intolerated Behaviour

Basic DNI stuff (Because it's wrong)-

Sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or any sort of bigotry or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated here.

Personal DNI stuff (Things I don't want to see from accounts in my notes or on my dash):

-Accounts that post harmful stereotypes and prejudice, of any kind. This definitely includes radfems, terfs, trans androphobia/misogyny, and misgendering feminine men (promoting toxic masculinity)

-Niragi glazers. This does NOT include people who like the actor, Dori, or people who like Niragi's addition to the story/the way his character is written. But saying Niragi is hot? Excusing his actions? Nuh uh please no.

-Nirashiya supporters. Absolutely not.

-People who post art of/headcanon the Yokai Watch trans mtf Nate Adams headcanon. It makes me uncomfortable and I don't want it being forced on me anymore, if you like it then fair enough but if you draw it or actively talk about it then DNI.

-People who post, draw, or write NSFW content, this includes hardcore gore or sexual themes, I feel uncomfortable seeing that (especially Yokai Watch NSFW, it's a kids show).

There is SO much in here that must be known, from confirmation that Casey is Cassandra's biological son to information about the origins of the Yokai. But given the fickleness of the internet, and the great difficulty it is to go through every thread looking for answers, I tried to make it easier by creating a master post of screenshots.

Uh warning this is kinda long lol but I seperated it into parts

LITTLE LOOKOUT HEADCANONS

When kwazii was little and part of the salty spirit crew he was their lookout! Thats why he wears the eyepatch, because there's this myth that sailors used to wear an eyepatch so that they could always have one eye adapted to the dark. Yk for when they go above and below deck? And with kwazii being a cat eyed lookout I think he'd try all the lil tricks for it.

Also speaking of eye health tricks hed totally uses kohl! Kohl is a middle Eastern/ North African thing, but its basically eyeliner power 👍 even now culturally some men and women choose to wear it overnight (for nonmakup purposes) because they believe it improves the health of the eye. Its also used for cosmetic purposes and to prevent evil eye 👁 by some people. Not everyone's the same tho ( I was gonna share a pic of mine but it wouldn't load)

Kwaziis pretty good at climbing ropes and using ropes cuz hed play on the ropes of the salty spirit. Alot of birds would nest there, these birds actually helped gather information and share messages for the pirates lol.

LEGAL IDENTITY AND ALTERNATE NAME

Kwazii does have an old legal identity for when he was little, but he didn't know so he had to make a new one. But his old legal name (a second name to protect his pirate family identity) was Kashiir Kucing. His mom was a kucing Malaysia cat

SPIRITUAL BELIEFS

Kwazii has a mix of beliefs from different cultural sources due to his upbringing. He believes in yokai, spirits, good and bad energy, and the evil eye.

He also seems very superstitious to everyone else since he makes clay charms with herbs inside and hangs them wherever he can. He also made everyone charms with their fingerprint on them. Most of them are to bring specific kinds of energies and keep bad spirits/ black magic away.

These charms herbs actually are usually herbs associated with anti disease measures,he also grows alot of pots filled with these herbs and insists everyone has one in their rooms. Even the captain with his freezing temperature bedroom. Kwazii has... stained their bathroom sink many times making these.

He also has small habits and behaviours like always entering a room with the right foot and etc

SONG AND DANCE

kwazii can dance cultural indigenous dances as he and his crew visited and made trade deals with many groups of people. He can also integrate the tamberine into his dancing

He knows alot of sea shanties and teaches the (pg version) of these to the vegimals. He never shared them with the other octonauts (like dashi) really, he tried once but for some reason it... felt very wrong. And... reminds him of how he felt when he thought his grandad was dead....

Kwazii has only really shares these full songs with the captain because the captain doesn't expect him to sing them all the time and understands they make kwazii feel sadder somehow. He hums them to kwazii on rough nights where kwazii needs the comfort and space to be vulnerable and cry.

He understands how music works on a fundamental level and that included acapella too. He learned music from his dad and dance from his mom.

REPAIRING THE GUPS

Kwazii also hums these subconsciously as he helps tweak repair gups. He doesn't crash as much as he used to but he felt really bad about how much work tweak had to do because of him, so they agreed he'd help out with the labor of it." You break it u fix it" he's gotten to the point where he can fix most basic issues with all the gups, and can repair the gup b from any crashes. Tweak still supervises and checks over his work tho

TEEN YEARS AND SOLO PIRATING

In his teen years he was more of a solo pirate and would ah.... well I'm gonna be straightforward and say he stole and sold alot of boat engines, was a menace to any poachers, saved a baby dolphin at one point and became an honorary member of their pod, DID successfully hunt treasure, broke into alot of places to steal cash (and information), and got hit by several purses in super markets because he doesn't know what land people manners are. Hd might be slightly wanted. Shhhhhh don't tell

Everyone but barnacles just kinda assumed he was technically homeless or a vagabond because he only mentioned sailing on his own boat before. But he actually found an abandoned lighthouse surrounded by hidden rocks in the water, not too big for a small boat like his though! It was kinda his secret pirate base but uhh... he's kinda embarrassed about it-

Cuz even tho he set up pirate traps and others he thinks it could've been way more impressive so he just never brings it up 💀at one point they had to take off from cotonauts and tweak was like.... hey do u wanna stay at the repair station with me and visit my pa with me?? To uh... help with repairing gups?? Cuz she was like??? Every time he ain't on the octopod hes just living in the wilderness 💀🙏

Admittedly, much of the way I view him is informed by headcanons and great stretches of canon, but that aside: He's the edgier variant of an already edgy character. He was trained by an assasin. His character bio makes him sound like someone to be feared. And yet.

He's Katie's equivalent of Hidabat, and Whisper finds him in a closet. He's quieter and less secure than the other Venocts. Look at the way he stands next to them in the anime!

Clearly, he's not nearly as scary as we're led to believe, and he might be a bit of a loser. I really like that about him :D

Found your post about Hatake clan relations to agriculture, and you are right about almost everything, except: wolves in Japan are associated with crops!

Here's from Japanese wolf wiki:

"In the Shinto belief, the ōkami ("wolf") is regarded as a messenger of the kami spirits and also offers protection against crop raiders such as the wild boar and deer. Wild animals were associated with the mountain spirit Yama-no-kami. The mountains of Japan, seen as a dangerous, deadly place, were highly associated with the wolf, which was believed to be their protector and guardian."

Hatake clan being a wolf clan is very plausible, it's just would mean a different thing than most people seem to believe.

Wolves are associated with crops and mountains.

There's also yokai okuri ōkami, that protects travellers through mountains unless they accidentally trip; if you trip it will kill you. Apparently it has another name - okuri inu.

"The okuri inu has a special relationship with another yokai, the yosuzume. This eerie bird’s nocturnal song is often a warning that an okuri inu is following you. If one hears the yosuzume’s “chi, chi, chi” song, it is a sign to take extra care to watch one’s footing so that the okuri inu doesn’t have dinner that night." (from yokai dot com/okuriinu/ )

I will admit that I am too lazy to look that information up. But I don't mind that wolves are tied to agriculture and could therefore be tied to the Hatake - my beef with the "Hatake have wolf summons and wolf characteristics" fanon comes from the fact that it's a cheap copy of the already existing Inuzuka clan. The Inuzuka are right there, we don't need Inuzuka 2.0 but make it more feral because wolves are cooler.

It doesn't even make sense, Kakashi's summons are dogs - and not even big mean wolfdogs like Tsume's but cute little pet doggos - and that "heacanon" only serves to make Kakashi and Tobirama (because he gets headcanoned as Hatake 90% of the time solely because of his hair color (which is funny because everyone describes it as white in their fics even tho it's fucking grey like Kakashi's or Kabuto's!!! (and speaking of Kabuto, isn't it funny that he never gets headcanoned for a Hatake even tho he looks more similar to Kakashi than Tobirama does? I wonder why that is. (I don't. I know exactly why that is.)))) extremely OOC.

Neither of them is some kind of growling, feral fighter who claws and bites their way through a battle. Neither is in any way or form extremely overprotective over what they consider theirs because of "pack reasons" (and neither is Sakumo for that matter, Mr "I'll kill myself even tho I am the last family my 5yo son has left"). And neither needs some kind of fangs to bite someone, if this is what people want to write, as Madara has already proven that a strong shinobi can bite a piece of flesh out with perfectly normal teeth.

All three characters are extremely powerful and badass in their own right without adding powers to them that are completely out of character. A headcanon builds up to something canon has already established and the "Hatake are like Inuzuka but with wolves" fanon is so far off that it would be laughable if it wasn't so annoying.

And I don't think tying the Hatake to agriculture is the only right way either. It's merely a suggestion, one that I find makes sense given the little bit we have, and if people want to build up on that and add how they tend to have wolf summons for protection (Kakashi's are still cute doggos tho), then that's fine and hey, at least it makes sense. My beef is just 100% that I think it's extremely cheap to make the Hatake a copy of the Inuzuka because they find wolves cooler than dogs and that's on that.

ROTTMNT OC!

This is Kaida! She's a 17-year-old human in the Rise world, but she's kinda different.

Y'all remember the dragon gang from that one episode of Rise where Leo and Mikey were servers? When Kaida was a lil babe, she got separated from her family in New York. She was found by that very dragon mafia branch (at least I headcanon them to be of the mafia) and taken under their wings. Literally and figuratively.

She grew up surrounded by yokai. She had to hide from the rest of the Hidden City, considering most would give her stink eyes out of either prejudice or caution. As she got older, she started wearing outfits that completely covered her skin as well as a dragon/oni mask to blend in more with the civilians in the Hidden City.

But it wasn't enough for her. She wants to be able to live with her family without hiding her identity. At some point, she found out about Draxum's work after digging through some definitely not-public information her family had and decided she was going to start looking for him to convince him to mutate her. Her search has been unsuccessful so far, but she's incredibly persistent.

Kaida is kinda stoic and tough. Think 2012 Raph, but slightly to the left. Rather than having anger issues, she's just Uncaring. This is due to her having been raised in the dog-eat-dog world of the mafia, especially with her being a human. Most of the members of her family love her, and the other at least tolerate her. But it's very clear to her that being the only human makes her different, and it's caused her to close off.

Underneath she's a bit of a softy. She has a big soft spot for small children, and she often spends more time with the little dragon hatchlings in her family than the adults.

She's my baby, please be nice to her. 🙏

The brainrot is real and fueling eachother with ideas like that is making it even better (or worse u choose uefgzifguz). As a kid who was obsessed with pirates and a current One Piece fan, your ask is exactly what I needed, thank you so much ♥ This AU is more joyful than what's seen of his canon life so yeah, hope you'll like it ! Okay, ready to sail ? Let's go !

• First : the ✨fashion✨. Ais could be at sea for weeks but would still make sure to look good, real good. I mean look at him ! He even has a pretty hat he wears on special occasions ✧.

• In this AU, Ais has his crew but is still affiliated to Ocudeus. Instead of being the spirit of the Seaspring, Ocudeus is literally the incarnation of the sea depths, a whole big Kraken ! Its energy, force and magic are linked to the abyss.

↑ Ais powers manifest differently here. Instead of seeing through the eyes of others, Ocudeus gave him some sort of marine omniscience. He can use the kraken's senses to a certain limit, a real advantage for navigation. Bro can literally listen through the sea itself if he wills enough :') He must have seen a lot...

• Ocudeus isn't the only spirit of his kind but is genuinely intrigued by mortals. It's not his first time forming a pact with 'lower beings' but Ais is actually one of his favourite holders/vessels so far lmaoezoihf. He kinda cares about the pirate, who's the closest thing he has to a friend.

• His ship is his second home, he takes absolute care of it. If his whole crew has to stay up all night to tidy & wash everything from top to bottom, they will ! And of course, the ship has a japanese name ! Ais named it "Hayai" [速] cause she's the fastest boat you'll ever see (his words not mine). First time you hear him talk about her you're like "...Wait who's Hayai ?" "This big girl over here >:)" and he shows you his amazing ship with a proud smile, which you really weren't expecting !

• Loves, loves, loves to travel ! Any new destination in his adventures is a reason to explore more, search for information and mysteries. He's just so curious about everything :')

• He picks up expressions, phrases and languages from his previous trips ! If he can remember as much as possible, he'll note everything in his log.

→ After every daily island/town tour, he makes sure to write a little about what happened so far. How much they traveled, how much they visited, how much they learned from passengers and citizens.

• Ais originally comes from a village on a small island, lots of yokais live in there as a community.

• He moves a lot but always comes back to his hometown when he can ! He's someone who gets attached and I just know he'd never abandon his little village.

• As a captain, his main role is to make sure everyone's fine. He checks up on his mates whenever he feels something might be wrong. He's got a sort of sixth sense for that... wonder how he got it hm 👀

→ Being the big softie he is, he actually really likes sleeping in the same room as his whole crew instead of his own cabin, he knows they're safe with him so he feels way less stressed. (Would 100% read bedtime stories to the youngest members.)

• His goal isn't even to find treasures or anything, he simply enjoys the freedom of being a pirate, the message behind it and especially the sailor fights !

• Knows how to sword fight and is pretty talented at it ! If you want to learn one or two tricks, he'll teach you >:)

• That man already had the smell of blood, smoke and metal well... in this AU it's even worse ! His smell is so distinctive and strong, anyone could recognize it from miles away.

• Our boy enjoys a good drink, we know that. Almost every night all his gang gather around and share some booze together in a comforting atmosphere, around a small fire. They enjoy the night together while chatting, playing games and much more !

→ Of course they also share tea in daytime when they're not busy navigating or whatsoever.

• Could also fit in general hcs but, his tattoos move or/and glow at specific moments. Sometimes it's like he's bioluminescent, when he goes in water at night, completely in the dark, his skin starts to glow under the moonlight. First time it happened he was so confused zegbkzuhf.

• After his pact with Ocudeus, he started to feel even more at peace when closer to the ocean. If he stays away from shores or marine areas for too long, little oni starts feeling homesick.

• He really appreciates collecting small objects from his travels. His room is full of souvenirs, strange artefacts found in the sand, small treasures, sea shells, cards from around the lands, old books in foreign languages, cultural jewelries offered by locals etc...

• Never really sets up a specific destination, except if he needs to. He loves the adrenaline of finding new places by complete hazard.

• Ais being a pirate who doesn't like seafood, the most accessible food at seas, is well... ironic.

• The sound of seagull chants and waves soothes him. He usually falls asleep on the deck, sunshine on his skin with the sea rocking him gently.

• First time you come to see him, it's one of his crewmate that tells you about him but you don't even know he's a captain ! You see him for the first time and you're just "Helloooo sailor ! How can I join your pirate gang handsome?"🥴

• Every single member is attractive. That's it. It's not the biggest crew really (around 20 people) but the diversity is here. Young ones, old ones, skinny ones, fat ones, pale skin, dark skin, humans, monsters, all the types really. And yes, some tried to woo you (how could they not, MC is 10/10).

• Kids on the ship view you as the cool unty (is that the gn term ?). Ais thinks it's cute except when you start spending more time with them when he originally invited you over…

• And yes, Princess & all his other soulless are here !!! Now they're more some sorta semi marine creatures. They really like to swim and it's the cutest thing :') Like, Ais and his pets swimming in the sea while some are playing in the sand ??? Too cute for me I-

• Talking about our favourite girl, she's the mascot of the crew ! Everyone is so in love with her, she's everyone's precious lil baby (even tho she can and will bite). They'll sometimes try to dress her up to fit their aesthetic and surprisingly she doesn't seem to mind. Also, the sounds she makes are…a mystery !

• Okay but just picture it : Ais hair flowing into the wind while he's watching the horizon, hues of the sea reflecting on his skin looking so peaceful.

• Thinking about his jolly roger, it would be a oni skull surrounded by red eyes with two teal sabers behind (I did a lil sketch hehe) :

• His favourite thing to find are old maps ! Especially if they lead to ancient locations with unchanged names. He has a lot of them and it also might be why he gets into a lot of fights (maps are a treasure themselves so of course people are gonna take risks).

• Even if he's young, he has a big reputation among other pirates. Rule number one : Don't mess with him or his crew. Number two : If you want information there's always a price to pay ! He's nice and generous but hey you know : don't except mercy.

→ Known for his loyalty tho ! If you show that you're worthy of his trust, he'll be your best ally for the rest of your life. He's intimidating but full of qualities.

How about the Smile Cures with a teammate who comes from a long line of yokai hunters? They are mostly quiet and reserved, but whenever the supernatural is brought up, they are talking a mile a minute and are eager to investigate any strange occurrence (they are absolutely in their element in the haunted school episode). Also, as a running gag, they often stick charms to other people’s foreheads (protection ones for their friends and banishment ones for people that annoy them). In addition, their element is the moon and they use a lot of shields in battle.

~ Miyuki initially believed that your interest in the supernatural was just that; an interest. So when she was informed that you came from a long line of yokai hunters, and are practically one yourself, she became frightened of the idea of the supernatural being real.

Miyuki: “Do you always carry those charms with you (name)? How many do you have?”

(name): “Yeah, I do. And I pretty much have an endless supply. My family always makes sure we never run out.”

Miyuki: “Oh? Is your family really superstitious?”

(name): “Do you not know? My family comes from a long line of yokai hunters.”

Miyuki: “….What?”

~ While she was always frightened of your stories, her fear was multiplied by many times after finding out about your family. It doesn’t help that she accidentally ends up listening to every one, and scares herself even more.

(name): “Hey guys, last night I encountered a betobetosan!”

Miyuki: “What’s that?”

(name): “It’s a yokai! Basically, if you hear footsteps behind you, but no one’s there, it might be betobetosan!”

Miyuki: “Scary! Are you okay?”

(name): “Oh yeah, they’re harmless. I just stepped aside, and told it to go ahead. It left after that.”

Miyuki: “That’s still terrifying!”

~ Any time you stick a charm onto her, her nerves are shot, and she asks if there’s some sort of entity nearby. Even if the answer is no, she doesn’t dare remove it. She’d rather be safe than sorry! Even if she looks ridiculous.

Akane: “Uh, Miyuki. Why’s there a charm on your forehead?”

Miyuki: “(name) put it there.”

Akane: “Are you gonna remove it?”

Miyuki: “Nope! I just wanna be safe!”

~ Whether intentionally or not, she almost always ends up accompanying you on your little ghost hunts. The whole time, she’s clinging to the nearest person as if the ghosts will take her if she doesn’t.

(name): “Miyuki, let go. You’re choking me.”

Miyuki: “I don’t wanna!”

(name): “Can’t you just hold onto my arm instead?”

Miyuki: “I’m not moving! I’m too scared!”

~ As a Pretty Cure, you kind of give Cure Happy the spooks. With your overall theme being the moon, it gives you a dark and mysterious vibe. It reminds her of the villains in her fairytale books. And with the knowledge of your family, that just adds to the creepy feeling.

(cure name): “Happy! Watch out!”

Cure Happy: “Whew! Thanks for the shield, (cure name), I- AAAH!”

(cure name): “What? What’s wrong?”

Cure Happy: “Your face… it was covered in shadow… it scared me!”

~ Akane doesn’t believe in ghosts, so she never believed any of your stories. Even after finding out about your family, while she knew they’re yokai hunters, she still didn’t think they were real. But she didn’t express her opinion too much, as to not disrespect you.

Akane: “So… you said you came from a long line of yokai hunters. Exactly how long is it?”

(name): “Over a hundred years.”

Akane: “Wow. They must be really into the supernatural then.”

(name): “We’re not just into it. It’s our life.”

~ Your stories do entertain her quite a bit. Especially when Miyuki and Nao get scared. But they’re never more than just fiction to her. So she doesn’t come with you to investigate supernatural stuff often, as she sees it as a waste of time.

(name): “So, when you knock at the door, you call out to Hanako-san.”

Nao: “Ah, stop! I don’t wanna hear any more!”

Akane: “Oh, calm down Nao. It’s just a story.”

(name): “Oh no, it’s totally real.”

~ Although, on rare occasions, she needs some entertainment. So she goes with you. She’s mostly in it for Miyuki and Nao’s screams, if they even come along. Obviously though, she doesn’t expect anything to happen. Even if something does, she always uses logic to “debunk” the so-called supernatural occurrences.

(name): “Did you see that? The light flickered!”

Akane: “That light bulb’s needed replacing for a while, (name).”

(name): “Oh.”

~ When it comes to your charms, Akane appreciates the sentiment, but she just views them as a simple piece of paper. So when you’re not looking, she throws it away. She does get a good laugh out of seeing others get freaked out over them though.

Miyuki: “Where’d your charm go, Akane?”

Akane: “Oh, I’m not really into this kind of stuff. I was gonna throw it away, but you can have it if you want.”

Miyuki: “Yes please!”

~ For your Pretty Cure form, Cure Sunny thinks your shields are really useful! She’s always more into doing the damage, so it’s important to have someone on defense. And while she’d never admit it, she thinks your Cure form is cooler than hers.

(cure name): “Ack! Hey, watch where you’re throwing that fire!”

Cure Sunny: “It’s fine! You have your barriers!”

(cure name): “Yes, but I need time to put one up! If you don’t warn me, you could burn me to a crisp!”

~ Yayoi loves spooky stories and urban legends! She was always happy that you shared her interest, so imagine how ecstatic she was when she found out that your family are actual, genuine yokai hunters! She was so excited, asking so many questions. And you were happy to answer all of them.

Yayoi: “Your family is so cool!”

(name): “Yeah, I know. We’re professionals, so if you ever think you’re being haunted, give us a call.”

Yayoi: “Eee! I will!”

~ Whenever you get super passionate about the supernatural, she’s always listening! She wants to hear all of your opinions, thoughts, everything! She truly believes every word you say. How could she not? I mean, you’re the yokai hunter! You know what you’re talking about!

Yayoi: “That’s so scary! I’m definitely never walking home alone at night now!”

Akane: “Don’t tell me you actually believe that story.”

Yayoi: “Of course I do! (name)’s from the (last name) family! They know all about this stuff!”

~ Her faith in you and the creepy is never swayed, even when Akane claims that ghosts aren’t real. She knows that you’d never lie, especially with the long line of other yokai hunters that have come before you. She never even listens to any words from non-believers. They all seem to go in one ear, and come out the other.

Akane: “Yayoi!”

Yayoi: “What?”

Akane: “I’ve been calling you! Don’t you hear me?”

Yayoi: “Oh, sorry! I was just watching (name) make a charm! It’s so cool!”

~ Any time you go ghost hunting, she always begs to accompany you. It’s been a bit of a dream of hers to experience a ghost sighting first hand, and you’re the best shot she has! She sees you as an expert, so if you think you saw something, she believes you.

Yayoi: “I got my camera ready!”

(name): “Good. But remember, ghosts are sneaky. So they might not appear in photos.”

Yayoi: “I know. But I still wanna try!”

~ When in battle, Cure Peace tends to hide behind you when things get scary. You’re the one with the protection, after all! You remind her of the cool heroes in her manga, and that makes her look up to you. So if you ever happen to save her with a barrier, she’ll forever be in your debt.

Yayoi: “Here, I’ll carry your bag for you!”

(name): “Oh, that’s okay.”

Yayoi: “Please let me! It’s the least I could do after you saved me that one time!”

(name): “That was two weeks ago…”

~ Nao hates ghost stories. They’ve always freaked her out. It was bad enough when you’d always have a spooky story to tell, but when she was told that your family are yokai hunters, she made a vow to herself to never go over to your house.

(name): “Hey Nao! I got this new video game! Do you wanna come over to my house and play it with me?”

Nao: “Oh, um…. sorry, but I have… plans.”

(name): “Oh, that’s okay.”

Nao: “See ya later!”

~ Whenever you’re in storyteller mode, she immediately covers her ears, not wanting to traumatize herself. In these situations, ignorance is bliss for her. She’s already a busy girl. So she doesn’t need any scary stories to get in her head, and possibly distract her.

(name): “So then, the lady in the mask will ask you ‘Do you think I’m beautiful?’”

Nao: “Aah! Stop! I don’t wanna hear it!”

(name): “C’mon Nao. I haven’t even gotten to the scary part yet!”

Nao: “I know! That’s why I don’t wanna hear any more!”

~ You can count her out on every ghost hunt or investigation of any kind. There’s nothing you could bribe her with to make her go. Whether yokai and ghosts are real or not, she doesn’t know. But she does not want to find out.

Nao: “What are you guys doing?”

(name): “We’re getting ready to investigate some strange activity on the third floor of the school. I think it’s a ghost. Wanna come?”

Nao: “No! Ahem, I mean, no. I’m busy. Sorry!”

~ Your tendency to slap charms on people makes her uneasy. Especially when you don’t give any explanation as to why. Protection or not, it makes her uncomfortable. Whenever you put one on her, she always takes it off. She wants no part in this spooky stuff!

Nao: “What’s this for?”

(name): “Protection.”

Nao: “From what?”

(name): “Gotta go!”

Nao: “Wait! Please explain! You’re freaking me out!”

~ When it comes to Pretty Cure stuff, she can usually set your difference in… hobbies aside. You’re working as a team to protect others, so that’s all that matters. Out of everyone’s powers on the team, yours is definitely her favorite. Your ability to shield whatever and whoever brings her less worry. She knows that if anything goes wrong, you’ll have everyone’s backs!

Cure March: “Uh oh! My March Shoot bounced back! Look out!”

(cure name): “I got it!”

~ Being the student councils president, Reika knows the backgrounds of pretty much every student at school. So that, of course, includes you. She was the first to know about your family, and was the one who told everyone. She didn’t mention it unless it was important though, which left some knowing much later than others.

Nao: “Wait, so (name)’s family are yokai hunters?”

Reika: “Yes. The (last name) family has been for many, many years. So there’s quite a long line of them.”

Nao: “And why am I just now hearing about this?”

Reika: “The topic hadn’t come up before.”

~ Since you come from a long line of yokai hunters, she’s always respectful of you when the topic of the supernatural comes up. She may not believe in ghosts or yokai, but she won’t voice her opinion, as to not offend you. She tries her best to get others to do the same, specially Akane.

Akane: “You don’t actually believe all this stuff, do you?”

Reika: “What I believe doesn’t matter. I won’t disrespect (name) and their family.”

Akane: “I guess that makes sense.”

~ While she may not believe in ghosts, she accompanies you on your hunts whenever she has the time. It’s still entertaining for her, and she always takes any opportunity to spend time with her friends that she can. Though, she does have to stop herself from backing up strange occurrences with science. Again, she doesn’t want to disrespect you.

Yayoi: “Burr, it’s chilly in here!”

(name): “That could mean there’s a ghost!”

Reika: “Well, the window is open- I mean, yes, maybe.”

~ She never rejects any of the charms you give her. She appreciates the thought, and knows it can put you at ease if you know she’s being protected. So she always sticks them on her bag, and takes them home at the end of the day. She even saves all of them.

Student body vice president: “What’s that on your bag, Reika?”

Reika: “Oh, it’s a protection charm.”

Student body vice president: “I didn’t know you believed in those.”

Reika: “Well, I don’t really. But (name) gave it to me.”

~ Cure Beauty is really good at making strategies. And in them, your shields are always an important part. She likes as little risk as possible, so having protection definitely makes her more confident in her plans.

Cure Beauty: “That special attack would not have worked without your shield. It must’ve been tiring to make such a big one. Thank you, (cure name).”

(cure name): “It’s no problem! I’m just happy to help!”

So I saw someone else just ask if anyone will ever see the silly side of purple and I was wondering if you had any personal headcanons for purple in this fic that you have yet to share? Totes fine if not I’m just really curious (I love BTO sm 😭🫶)

YES okay so this is off the top of my head so i can’t remember if they’ve been mentioned before or not but i just wanna share

Purple was a kid who was really invested in space. he wanted to be an astronaut, had the little star protection light in his room, etc. part of this fascination is definitely from the fact that he never had the ability to see the sky as a kid, since he was underground. (this reminds me of a scene that i had an idea for… but idk if i’ll add it!)

Purple did actually attend a Yokai public school when he was younger. he does have documentation, and he is a legal citizen (of the Hidden City). draxum pulled him out of school after bullying due to his scars (thought mostly it was because the Council of Heads was getting on his ass and he didn’t want to put Purple at risk of being targeted.) He had private tutors and at least some formal education. He a smart boy!

Purple has a tendency to over apologize. I feel awkward adding this in dialogue because (even though you cannot talk to me without hearing me say “i’m sorry” at least 15 times) i think it breaks the flow and would be a little annoying to read.

Dude gets so excited when he knows the answer to a question. someone will be like “ugh why does x have to be this way” and he’ll push up his glasses and say “WELL ACTUALLY”. not because he’s mean or anything, but because he genuinely likes to divulge information.

Purple will burn the ends of his mask off. Yes, he knows there are scissors. No, he doesn’t need them. also he’s an edgy 14 year old so he absolutely will draw a slit in his drawn on eyebrows.

Purple likes to fuck with Leo. I said this in the Discord but I absolutely think Leo would say some mundane saying like, “I’m so hungry i could eat a horse!” and purple would whip around in horror and respond, “You would WHAT? Do you KNOW how offensive that is to horse yōkai?!”

i don’t remember the context for this but i think it’s still funny:

"I could use my bombs."

"WHY DO YOU HAVE BOMBS?!"

"Tsk. Youve clearly never blown anything up before."

purple has moments of over/under stimulation where he will just bang his hands on a table. i think this would be so funny to hear in the middle of the night and leo just walks in and is like “jesus what are you doing??”

purple is very sensitive to sound. he relies on sound to ground him, to keep him calm, but it can also be his worst nightmare.

purple watched black butler. idk when or why but he did. oh and undertale.

Wanderer x Yokai!Reader

First story: Link

At first I tried keeping what Yokai the Reader was vague, but how they act/came to be would depend on this. So I'm making the executive decision to have the reader be an Inugami. So warning of starvation, animal and human abuse. I say this as a kid who grew up with unsupervised internet access, looking up how people "made" an Inugami is very dark so warning for some of the headcanons (I'll make the first words in red so you know what ones to skip)

After you where completely filled in on what happened... let's just say Wanderer got an ear full

"Kuni I swear, if you try that again I'll count that as abuse and tare you limb from limb :D"

Being an Inugami means you where a sort of "man-made" yokai

Being once a domesticat dog forced into servitude because of a horrific starvation ritual with food just out of reach, anger, hunger, and betrayal turned you into a yokai

And because your creators finished the ritual properly with finally feeding you (After your death, by the way) you had enter a contract with them

But if the contracted harm or abuse the Inugami, the contract is broken

So, long story short, they broke the contract and payed the price

Yae Miko was sent to wrangle you in because you where like a toddler with a knife, dangerous

So when Ei sealed the prototype puppet in his domain, Yae Miko decided to wash her hands of you

Miko had him give you food and the rest is history

So now here you two where looking each other in the eyes

It was awkward, at first.

Then he started rummaging around his pockets, then held his hand out.

"Here." It was a piece of candy

You took it.

"You still carry candies around for the children?"

"No! It's just an old habit, okay?"

tbh, i got into apollo when i started playing animal crossing: poket camp, idk, he just got my heart by being a sweet goofball 🫶

obviously, apollo doesn't look like that in games, so this human design is all mine hehe

apollo's height and age are just a headcanon because nintendo doesn't have that kind of information for villagers!

sinse in games villagers often sport pretty simple clothes, apollo's normal outfit wasn't based on that.

in nu:carnival, eiden (main character) has two familiars and clan members. clan members sport a gem that was given them by powerful sorcerer (he created the clan and then later put eiden into his place?? maybe?? it's complicated). gems contain a lagre portion of his essence, making them more powerful! woo!

(that's how i understood that.. i may be wrong haha)

so! every member has a unique gem in a unique place (they don't seem to repeat, at least not yet)

and apollo has his black gem on his back!

as far as i'm aware, colors of gems don't represent anything specific, they seem to match dominant color of characters. so, no overthinking here 👌

to decide how i'll go about events ssr desings (each event only features two to three characters), i've decided to tie each one to an existing clan member.

apollo's counterpart is edmond

apollo wasn't isekaied into nc world suddenly, like mallek and hiruma, but instead he was born into it. he was an eagle, turned yokai, who lives in wood territory. (i'll skip this nc lore exploration, sorry <:з)

apollo builds his own house deep in the woods, just living his slow life, wondering why he was born with a gem on his back.

✰ ~120 years old (around ~30 years mentally), bisexual, full vers. He is commited to the mission and stay hidden as his human persona, but he also likes to indulge.. Has had a couple partners before, and how he is with them and whether he's submissive or dominant really depends on how they are, he is a dom top in this current relationship. He is not very good at showing his emotions, but through actions he shows how he loves and protects his current partner. More info here

I'VE ACTUALLY BEEN GATHERING MY OWN HEADCANONS FOR THIS because i was considering trying to run a Tumblr tournament for multigender headcanons a while ago. so here's a few of mine. sorry about the fandoms i know some of them are well-despised on this site but. the gender.

James Bonde (Moriarty the Patriot) [male female bigender coded: the ease with which he starts presenting male out of convenience alone is my Everything. i love him. i saw him and was instantly like That's My Gender That One Right There]

Boothill (Honkai: Star Rail) [he's got something going on with his gender but it feels like Extra gender rather than just trans gender. to Me. though this one is maybe more headcanon than canon coding]

Sparkle (Honkai: Star Rail) [my deranged girl of all time. i could see her being pangender. i think she collects them. if not all then at least Many]

Double Trouble (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) [canon non-binary and personally the theatrics of the way they act has a lot of multigender vibes to me]

Milo Belladonna (Monster Prom: Monster Camp) [also canon non-binary. very androgynous appearance. i think they keep their genders on a shelf in their brain like fine wines to show off at their leisure]

Kuya (NU: Carnival) (still 18+) [during one of the events (storybook/fairytale theme) he played the role of a princess. he frequently experiments with androgynous or feminine styles of hair and clothing and refuses to elaborate (he grew his hair long and only has one single line mentioning it that also just tells you to drop it.), i don't necessarily see him as male&female but i think he's got at least male and One Other Thing. not sure even he knows what that other thing is. might have something to do with his identity as a yokai. also he fixates a LOT on his name and being "kuya" first and foremost which is just So "complicated gender" coded to me. also I'm biased because i love him. my blorbo.]

Haruka Kokonose (Kagerou Project but more specifically @yuukei-yikes 's headcanons and post-STR universe for them. i don't know if that counts. if not then uhh honorable mention.) [i think it's male female bigender but i also don't remember if it was explicitly mentioned, but i know at least those two! also sorry for the ping i just think the links directly to the blog are convenient so i like to include them]

Zhongli (Genshin Impact) [his multigender swag is off the charts. "does that mean [you are] an older woman...?" "perhaps ╮⁠(⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)⁠╭". he has been caught "incognito" (it is not incognito. there is a published book about it.) For someone who claims relying on things isn’t the smartest of ideas, Goodsir finds himself using a certain magic leaf quite often. Thanks to it he’s able to do his duty as a butler easier and branch out more, after all. If working for a human company at the time he’ll normally wear the leaf, looking human to any non-yokai. Other yokai will simply see him with a leaf on his head though. With the use of the leaf he’s able to work in certain places easier, and getting things from stores and the such becomes easy as well. It’s also just great fun being able to communicate and pull of tricks easier with it.

-like raph, he uses it someitmes to fuck with the customers on the other line of his IT Tech Support job. If they're giving him a hard time, or being plain stupid, he'll start describing what to do to fix their problem in a different language.

-uses it freely, except one time he was helping a guy who was fluent in it.

-all it took was a "yokai" in response and Donnie was bamboozled.

-he doesn't use it as much on there anymore after that.

-definitely had one of those learn kanji books where you trace the symbols so he can better learn the linework

-i like to think in this universe of tmnt, Mikey and Splinter watch J-dramas together

-its already mentioned that Splinter is into soaps, imagine him and Mikey watching a good old J-Drama from the 90s.

-Splinter likes it that way, it's more dramatic

-most likely uses it while on missions and fighting and in stealth mode, but mainly uses sign language during said stealth mode

-he practices his writing all the time, is really into line work and origins of the language/the evolution of it from ancient to modern Japanese

- enjoys reading it in his downtime, that man definitely has a stack of old Japanese literature that he likes to read!

Donatello

- anything about Japanese culture/aesthetics, he can answer!

-doesn’t speak it much, but he enjoys learning about the culture a lot!

-REALLY loves Japanese City Pop, probably bayverse Donnie’s favorite genre of music no doubt

-Donnie passes notes under the door of his lab to whoever’s passing by when he needs something, not a full sentence at all, just one word notes.

Observe:

After some loud knocking coming from the other side of the lab door, Leonardo comes to it as if it’s a habit at this point. He’s so used to Donnie not coming out his lab for hours, and he’s come accustomed to retrieving any item he needs from the “outside world.”

So when he sees the neatly placed slip of paper of “food!” written in chicken scratch kanji, he’s trudging his feet to the cupboard where Donnie’s secret stash of lab snacks are. Yes, a whole bin that’s labeled “lab snacks.” He reaches for the usual packet of strawberry frosted Pop-Tarts, noticing that there’s only one box left. He would have to ask April to get some again soon.

Leonardo wonders if he should attempt to toast them for Donnie, but as he glances at the silver toaster that Donnie fixed (again) a few nights ago, he thinks about how badly it would end and how pissed Donnie would get for having to fix it the 4th time this week. He picks out the aluminum wrapped strawberry Pop Tarts as is, placing the bin back in its secret place to where Mikey can’t see it.

Raphael

-likes the art aspect of Japanese culture, has the kanji for “family” etched on his shell

-since he knits in his past time, he makes small things that reflect the language or art in some way, whether it be making a cherry blossom rug for Splinter’s room, or making Mikey his requested mits for the winter time patrols with his name written in kanji

- like Donnie, he doesn’t verbally speak it, but incorporates it into his life in some way

-will engrave anything if his that he can with kanji

-since he can’t exactly get a tattoo, he reverts to engraving, hence his shell

Michelangelo

- 100% calls the pizza shop and orders in Japanese

-they don’t understand what he’s saying

-when the Hamato family is feeling some Japanese food, he hits them up and orders in Japanese, he gets all giddy when they respond back

Rise!TMNT

-him and Donnie argue in Japanese 110%

-he’s struggling with memorizing certain kanji symbols, so he’s using Rosetta Stone

-doesn’t like the Duo bird

-has a conspiracy theory that the Duo bird tracks his every move???

-will switch the TV to a J-Drama or put Splinter’s TV to the Japanese Dub version of whatever he’s watching just to fuck with him

-secretly enjoys said J-Dramas

-pretends to be leader and barks orders in Japanese

-yeah nobody listens to him

-using his “platinum library card,” he loves those Japanese picture books of modern art

-DOES NOT lend them to Mikey, since he’s missing some now

-overdue library books because of this
